Responsible by design
ESG at Foliot
At Foliot, ESG is woven into the way we manufacture, how we treat our people, and by showing up for the communities we serve.
Three Pillars. One Commitment.
Responsible manufacturing means more than reducing emissions. It means investing in the people behind the product, maintaining ethical supply chains, and building governance structures that hold us accountable over the long term. Our ESG approach is structured around three verified pillars: Environment, Social, and Governance. Each one is backed by measurable outcomes and a commitment to continuous improvement.
Environmental
Reducing environmental impact through responsible sourcing, circular manufacturing, and renewable energy.
Social
Supporting people through safe workplaces, ethical practices, and long-term community partnerships.
Governance
Driving accountability through transparent decision-making, strong oversight, and continuous improvement.
Environmental
Our Quebec facilities manufacture on a 100% hydropower electricity grid, one of the cleanest electricity sources in the world. Across all three facilities, approximately 69% of our total energy consumption comes from renewable sources. We use 100% recycled wood fibre board and design furniture engineered for a long service life. 100% of wood dust is reused or composted, and our engineered board is modelled as carbon-negative at the material level. Our performance is independently verified by EcoVadis (Top 20% globally, 2025) and reported in accordance with GRI standards. Our full carbon footprint, waste management programs, material sourcing practices, and certifications are documented on our Sustainability page.
Social Impact
We believe that investing in people and communities creates lasting value.

Diversity & Inclusion
We invest in safe, well-run facilities, fair pay, and ongoing skills development across our 630+ person workforce. Since 2019, we have reduced recordable workplace injuries by nearly 80%. Our team benefits from on-site training, wellness programs, a bistro, a gym, collective insurance, and continuous professional development opportunities.
We build partnerships based on shared values. Through our collaboration with the Chicago Furniture Bank, we have redistributed 588 tonnes of furniture across 49 truckloads since 2023. Locally, we support the Fondation du Centre Jeunesse des Laurentides, organize annual blood drives and Earth Day cleanups, and donate materials to the Saint-Jerome eco-centre and local community organizations.
We embrace the uniqueness each employee brings to our team. Our commitment to inclusion extends to our supply chain, where we actively support minority-owned and women-owned businesses through our subcontracting practices.
Governance
ESG Committee
Established in 2024, our ESG Committee oversees sustainability strategy and monitors performance across all three facilities.
Responsible Supply Chains
Our Supplier Code of Conduct covers labour rights, safe workplaces, ethical business practices, and sustainable and equitable procurement.
Durability as Responsibility
Every piece we manufacture is engineered for a long service life. Fewer replacements mean less waste and lower total cost of ownership for our clients.
Independent Assessments
Our performance is verified by EcoVadis (Top 20% globally, 2025) and MindClick (Leader Status, Laminate Production, 2025). We pursue these assessments for the accountability they provide, not just the recognition.
