Why permanent supportive housing?
Sunhaven was created to bring 50 units of permanent supportive housing to Clark County, providing people who have experienced chronic homelessness with stable, long-term housing alongside access to on-site supportive services.
Built around Housing First and trauma-informed principles, the community brings housing, case management, resident services, and access to health and behavioral health support together in one environment.
The physical space needed to support that same mission. Foliot furnished residential apartments, community spaces, and social services offices with furniture selected to balance the warmth of residential design with the durability required for high-use environments.
The challenges at hand—and Foliot’s solutions
For Ovation, Sunhaven represented a new type of project. The team brought extensive experience with high-end residential environments but was new to permanent supportive housing, and to the specific furniture considerations that come with it.
Foliot stepped in as both a furniture provider and an advisor, helping the team understand how durability, maintainability, accessibility, space planning, and resident experience intersect in supportive housing.
That guidance informed decisions throughout the project. Space plans considered ADA accessibility and egress, while layouts were developed to support both community and individual use. Residential finishes helped move the environment away from an institutional feel, while commercial-grade furniture provided the durability needed for everyday use.
Within the apartments, practical details made a difference: under-bed drawers added valuable storage, armless dining chairs accommodated a wider range of residents, and modular seating made efficient use of the living space. In shared areas, stackable seating and flip-top tables allowed spaces to adapt to different activities and needs.

With Foliot’s Las Vegas manufacturing facility approximately 20 minutes from Sunhaven, support was close to the project from delivery through installation. The turnkey approach gave Ovation one partner to help coordinate the furniture package and provide ongoing warranty support.
