About Us

Founded in Quebec in 1991 by Daniel Foliot, Foliot Furniture was built on a clear ambition: to design and manufacture durable, functional, and timeless furniture for commercial environments. What started in a small Montreal factory has grown into a North American operation with manufacturing facilities in Saint-Jérôme, Mirabel, and Las Vegas, and furniture delivered to more than 1.25 million rooms across the continent. We're still family-owned. Still making everything ourselves. Still standing behind every piece we ship.

The Foliot Story

For more than three decades, Foliot has been a trusted name in the education sector. Our story begins with the launch of our first furniture line, designed for daycares and primary schools. In 1997, we began working with universities, supporting them as student housing demands grew and helping reshape the spaces where people live and learn.

In 2009, we expanded into hospitality. Foliot built its reputation on laminate furniture that performs: original designs, consistent quality, honest pricing, and delivery you can count on. We're proud of how far we've come, and the best is still ahead.

1991

Founding of Foliot Furniture by Daniel Foliot, a once-aspiring lawyer-turned-entrepreneur. After launching a successful new division in his woodworking company, Daniel decided to sell his shares and branch out on his own, opening Foliot Furniture the same year.

1992

Design of our company's first desk collection, "l'enfant patient" (the patient child), produced for the pre-school market and featuring children's desks. While there wasn't a great opportunity in this segment, we found a need at the primary and secondary school levels.

1994

Opening of an 1,800-square-foot factory in Montreal, Quebec, employing six full-time staff, leading to the signing of a major contract with UQÀM (University of Québec in Montéal). Soon after, we gained the New York State Authority as a client, paving the way for future growth and success in the industry.

2000

Investing in quality control and new equipment, we added another 40,000-square-foot Canadian factory, modernizing operations. Only a few years later, the factory was renovated to 250,000 square feet, allowing for the production of 15,000 student rooms annually.

2006

Now aiming to increasingly contribute to the Hospitality sector, we began the approval process with Hilton.

2007

Expanding our product lines to include seating collections, hiring experts in upholstery.

2010

Acquiring a 309,000-square-foot dactory in Las Vegas allowed us to better serve our American clients by being closer to them, economically and geographically.

2020

Investment from Novacap in Foliot, supporting expansion as a new partner. A new facility in Canada produces laminate panels.

2024

Deployment of 17 Cobots throughout manufacturing facilities. Our portfolio grows with another hospitality brand: LivSmart Studios. We also acquired Interior Resources, a human services company.

2025

The company takes another step in its international growth strategy with its first events across the Atlantic.
