Foliot Furniture has been recognized as a leader in Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) practices within its industry, following an evaluation by MindClick. The company has also announced new initiatives, aimed at significantly reducing waste and promoting sustainability.
Foliot’s commitment to ESG practices has been formally evaluated by MindClick, a leading provider of data and analytics solutions for environmentally and socially responsible design and purchasing. MindClick’s Sustainability Assessment Program (MSAP) evaluates companies based on their environmental and social impacts throughout the product lifecycle, including factors such as waste reduction, carbon emissions, and healthy interiors.
The evaluation process at Foliot included a comprehensive analysis of 170 products, HR processes, and various management systems related to waste, transportation, packaging, chemicals, and customer safety. The results of this evaluation highlight Foliot’s leadership in ESG practices, with notable areas for improvement including the calculation of greenhouse gas emissions (GES) and waste reduction.

The assessment confirmed Foliot’s status as a leader in ESG practices, with recommendations for further improvements in GES calculations and waste reduction strategies.
Composting Initiative
In addition to its ESG achievements, Foliot has launched multiple eco-conscious initiatives on reconfiguring waste disposal systems to promote recycling and composting.
Some Initiatives Include:
- Waste Management: Reorganizing the placement of trash bins to facilitate proper waste segregation, including a composting bin, the first of its kind in Foliot’s neighborhood.
- Establishing local partnerships to recycle waste: All saw dust to local greenhouses to serve as planting material and sending all chemical treatment products to a recycling plant to be used as energy.
- Installation of 14 vehicle recharging stations.
- Objectives for 2025: Reduce the weight of trash by 70%.
- Success Factors: Involvement of all employees and taking the time to properly sort items.
The project is well underway, already significantly reducing the environmental impact of the bistro’s operations.
